I work in mixed media on both canvas and paper. In both my writing and visual work I'm interested in rendering the heaviness of topics such as dreams, catastrophic thinking, anxiety, animals & monsters, interpersonal conflict, and family trauma in intentionally clashing colors and language. A darkness or sadness simultaneously undercut and complemented by humor and pathos is the quality I admire most in my favorite novels, films, and works of art. This is what I strive for in my own creative work.
