Mixed media paintings & drawings Synthesizing inspiration from dream fragments, images from 70s-era encyclopedias and family photographs, this eight-year cycle of paintings and drawings conveys a sense of heartbreak, mystery and impending violence. Paintings: Initial marks were made with compressed charcoal and a wash of linseed oil with oil-stick accents. Layers of oil paint, additional charcoal, spray paint and paint pen were added intuitively over a period of years, sometimes with eyes closed. Drawings were made with a similar process—ink, markers, paint pens and watercolor. Marc is a self-taught painter living in Seattle |
